In 1975, he graduated from Izmit Derince High School. In 1982, he graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. He specialised in Otorhinolaryngology at Ankara Nümune Hospital between 1985-1988. He worked as an Otorhinolaryngology specialist and manager in various hospitals. In 2006, he retired from Istanbul Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital Chief Physician.
