Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation covers the diagnosis and treatment of physical and functional disorders.

This treatment method is a form of non-pharmacological treatment applied in musculoskeletal system diseases or benefits, including hot, cold applications applied externally to the body, electric currents, massage and exercise and applications to relieve pain. It can be applied in addition to oral treatments or alone.

Rehabilitation, on the other hand, is a treatment aimed at restoring lost mobility, whether congenital or acquired.

Depending on the condition of the disease, a different physical therapy programme is planned. This treatment programme may include the administration of medication and physical therapy agents and one or more therapeutic exercises. Depending on the disease, 10-20 sessions are applied, each session lasting 1-1.5 hours.

Generally, the patient does not feel pain during physiotherapy applications. However, if the patient has joint restriction, for example, if he/she cannot lift his/her shoulder, then there may be mild pain as the physiotherapist will perform stretching exercises.

Physical therapy is applied to those who have pain and dysfunction in the shoulder, arm, leg, elbow, foot, wrist joints and surrounding tissues, spine areas such as waist, back, neck due to various reasons, those who are not in the active period of inflammatory rheumatic diseases, those who have weakness in their muscles, stiffness in their joints and functional limitations after some surgical interventions, especially orthopedic surgeries.
